About The Chapel

This quaint log Chapel is situated within the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, located in the city of Stanley, Idaho. This is truly Idaho's most beautiful Chapel.

Built in 1977, our mission is to provide a non-denominational facility where people of all faiths can congregate for weddings, meditation, worship and special events.  Even though the chapel was built in the 1970's it feels as if it has been a part of the community for over a hundred years.

Constructed entirely with logs, the Chapel has exposed overhead beams and wooden floors with carpeted floor runners. Wooden pews that will seat up to 150 people. The chapel is adorned with seven stained glass windows depicting the local mountain scenery. The memorial windows were commissioned between 1977 and 1981 by the Stained Glass Co in Boise, Idaho by Bill Hart & Kay Cooper. Each window depicts the majestic scenery of the mountains and the valley. Four large clear glass windows behind the altar offer a spectacular backdrop with fantastic unobstructed views of the 10,000-foot peaks that surround the valley.

The Sawtooth Valley Meditation Chapel is host to many weddings each year, and it's easy to see why... the mountains just seem to bring out the romantic in us all, and of course they provide a picture-perfect backdrop. The Sawtooth Valley Meditation Chapel is suitable for both casual or formal weddings.

The chapel leases space to several church organizations throughout the year. In addition this non-profit entity receives contributions from generous donors each year to help with its expenses.

 

Donations

Your support is vital to both our mission and the community it fosters.  The donations we collect throughout the year help to cover utilities and the general maintenance of the building. The Chapel Board of Directors has created a Building Fund to address needed repairs and improvements.  Your patronage would enable the Building Fund to develop a greater facility for the community and our many visitors.  We encourage you to consider a tax-deductible donation in any amount, which may be sent to P.O.
